Paddington New Yard, Environmental Management

Costain Limited needed a consultant embedded within the project team to deliver the full complement of Environmental Management services to the requirements of the International Standard, ISO14001. The project comprised the construction of a new concrete batching plant, bus depot and preparatory work for the new system-wide track works for the Crossrail project. Our work was pivotal to the project achieving Crossrail’s esteemed ‘Green Line Award’ for excellence in environmental management.

Docklands Light Railway, Double Tracking Feasibility 

For DLR Limited, we project managed the detailed environmental appraisal, sustainable design management and optioneering of the proposed £45m double-tracking of the northern section of the DLR. The work establishes the foundations for the future Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) application and EIA for the much needed infrastructure enhancement.

London Bridge Station Redevelopment

We are working with Costain Limited to secure and maintain 24/7 working on this iconic and prestigious £1billion project, part of the Thameslink Programme. We are providing specialist noise and environmental management services to ensure the project meets its ambitious programme targets whilst keeping impacts on the surrounding community and environment to a minimum.

Ilford Train Depot Redevelopment 

For Volkerfitzpatrick Limited we delivered the full remit of Design and Construction Environmental Management requirements to ISO14001 for the £100m construction and redesign of the key eastern depot of the Crossrail project. Embedded in the project team we delivered all aspects of the environmental management plan and provided specialist input on operational and construction noise, air quality; ecology; waste management; pollution prevention, incident management and investigation; training and development.

London Overground Capacity Improvement Programme (LOCIP)

We delivered the environmental assessment and management of this bold and ambitious £320m programme for London Overground from initial feasibility, design option development and detailed design, through to construction and delivery. LOCIP comprised the construction of two new major train stabling facilities, substantial modifications to two operational train maintenance depots and platform extensions at over 30 stations as well as signalling and infrastructure enhancements across both the East London Line and North London Line networks.

Hackney Central Lighting Assessment 

We undertook a lighting assessment in support of the planning application to upgrade and redevelop London Overground’s Hackney Central Station including public realm improvements outside of the station. The assessment was aimed at establishing and assessing existing lighting conditions at the proposed development site and detailing design parameters. This was to ensure the proposed lighting scheme did not cause light pollution to adjacent residential neighbours or the environment.
